Indigenous Organization Partnerships: A unique approach

At Cowgirl Artists of America our 4 core beliefs are always at the front of our minds. One of these beliefs is collaboration, and as soon as we started working and Women's Work we knew there was great opportunity to cultivate meaningful partnerships and collaborations with ranches, agricultural communities, Indigenous Organizations, day workers, and more to tell the old and new stories of women in the West.

While western art exhibitions often contain depeictions of Indigenous peoples, these works are most frequently created from the outside perspective of non-native artists. We recognize that the intersection of "Western" and "Indigenous" art is a complex one, but we are committed to providing a platfrom for Indigenous women to share their own culture and stories, and to increase representation of Indigenous women artists.

Because Indigenous Women are intrinsically connected to their tribes there is no partnership requirement like there is for women visiting ranches for the Women's Work exhibition. However, we believe in collaboration and creating partnerships that benefit everyone, and we'd love to partner with you! If you are interested in becoming a partner and receiving the benefits associated with partners please for please email info@cowgirlartistsofamerica.org to discuss options.
